Sturdy Construction and Convenient Features

Though small, the grill is by no means flimsy as it is constructed with a sturdy nylon frame that is reinforced with glass, and a durable cast aluminum lid and body, which are good heat retainers. Grill quality isn't sacrificed for size and portability either, as the cast iron cooking grate is enameled with porcelain to produce the sear marks characteristic of barbecue cooking and to aid with the cleanup process.

Cooks who take on more food than they can carry have no need to worry either, as the grill comes with two Tuck-Away worktables that have built-in tool holders for the cook who needs every implement in the kitchen. The tables fold into the grill when not in use for easy storage and transport.

Quick, Even Heating For Perfect Searing

Cooks liked using the Weber Q 120 as the cooking grate heated quickly and evenly, making cooking a fast and efficient process despite the small size of the grill. Heat retention was also impressive; with the grill heating quickly and remaining hot enough to sear meat with an emphatic sizzle even after a few minutes had passed with the lid open.

One cook mentioned that quiet electric starter was a welcome change from a grill that starts "explosively". Many a review also appreciated how it has a higher BTU rating compared to other small gas grills, and that it functioned with both 14.1 and 16.4 oz. propane cylinders.

Easy To Assemble and Clean

One of the more pleasing features of the Weber Q 120 is that it is immensely easy to assemble and clean. One review mentioned that the grill's cast-aluminum bowl shape meant that grill cleaning only needed a paper towel to push any remaining grease and scraps into the drip pan for disposal. Stubborn scraps were easily removed with a scraper, but the porcelain enamel often rendered it unnecessary.

As a small grill, the Weber Q 120 is especially suited to travel. Users reported that it folded up into an extremely compact size, even with the propane tank attached, for easy carrying. The cast aluminum body also rendered it light yet sturdy enough to withstand any bumps and knocks during travel.

Vulnerable To Windy Conditions

Despite the excellent heat retention properties of the porcelain-enameled grate, there were some complaints that the grill was unable to maintain high temperatures for a long time. This was evident with sear marks on the meat appearing darker on one side when compared to the other. The cause was thought to be the gaps in the lid, which make room for the foldaway worktables.
