Weber 3780001 Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill Review
June 30, 2010 by admin
The Weber Genesis S-320 propane grill is a fully functional outdoor grilling station equipped with three seamless stainless steel burners with a heat rating of 42,000 BTU easily ignited with an electronic ignition system. Stainless steel rods that are 7 mm in diameter are a feature of the cooking grates that are guaranteed never to warp or distort in the heat.
Angled Flavorizer bars made from stainless steel prevent grease fires and flare-ups, and ensure that all food cooked on the 507 square inch main cooking surface is flavorful, not charred. A 130 square inch warming rack keeps food and buns warm, providing the cook with 637 square inches of total cooking surface. For the cook who needs to prepare side dishes to go with delectable mains, the Weber Genesis comes with 12,000 BTU side burner that can be flush-mounted on the fully enclosed stainless steel cart.
A Great Cooking Experience Erases Memories of Protracted Assembly
Assembly of the Genesis S-320 seemed intimidating, judging by early reviews, but the systematic instructions were easy to follow. They eventually decided that putting the grill together appeared complicated due to the large number of screws involved.
The grill heats very quickly, getting up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit in approximately 5 minutes. Thanks to the presence of the three stainless steel burners, the grill heats in a uniform manner, which guarantees hot or cold spots don't exist on the grill. Even better, individual burner control knobs allow precise and easy management of the heat produced. It was also easy to keep track of fuel usage thanks to the propane scale included with the grill.
Guests Can Look Forward To Delicious Cooking
With an evenly heated cooking area that is free from pesky flare-ups, the stainless steel cooking grills retain heat admirably well thanks to their thickness. Many cooks found that this is the key to the perfect sear marks and efficient, even cooking. The Flavorizer bars below immediately vaporize drippings emitted by meats cooking on the grills, imparting extra barbecue flavor to the cooking. Any remaining grease drains smoothly into an easily removable drip pan for easy disposal. The cooking grates are sturdy and easy to clean as well, making cleanup a pain free process.
Placement of Burner Controls Is Questionable
More than one review had a complaint about the burner controls of the Weber Genesis S-320, which are located on the right of the grill. Very little work or storage space remains when the side burner is also in use, and storing items on the limited space available on the right side table can be a cramped process. Additionally, items that are stored close to the grill area have the unfortunate tendency to become uncomfortably warm.
While assembly is a relatively simple but time-consuming process that requires patience, the wrench that accompanies the unassembled grill leaves much to be desired. One review writer suggested that a standard socket set, wrench, screwdrivers and needle nose pliers are better suited to the task. Moreover, the heavy duty front locking and back swivel casters don't roll very well on grass despite their mobility on paved ground.
